William and Lynn’s Love Story
One of the best things that came from 2020 was this love story! My brother met his girlfriend Lynn in March. It was so beautiful seeing their love blossom naturally. They tied the knot right before the year ended. Congratulations to the lovebirds! See below on how they met and watch a video on their special day and memories. :)
How we met:
We met online. We matched on Hinge in March. My first message to her was a single "okay hand" emoji. 👌
She was hesitant to match with me, but luckily, I had struck a chord with my emoji choice and she responded with her own okay hand emoji. 👌
After we matched, we talked for 2 months straight.
Our first in person date was in Brooklyn, where she lived at the time. It was during quarantine, so I picked her up and we went for a walk near the Verrazano bridge. We were pretty quiet and it was kinda awkward, but later I learned that it was because my car was not in the best state in terms of cleanliness and that put her off. Then later, I managed to further embarrass myself by not being able to parallel park correctly. In my defense, I've lived in Central Jersey my entire life and my car didn't have rear or side view cameras so it's hard to parallel park if you are not practiced.
Luckily she gave me a second chance after the terrible date.
talk about your proposal. When, where, how?
We were planning to get a new apartment together and I knew I wanted to marry her. We had decided on an apartment and we wanted to go for a final walkthrough and get some measurements for furniture. Before we went, I planned to propose and arranged with the leasing manager to record the proposal for me. So day of the final walkthrough, we went, loved what we saw, and decided to move forward with the apartment. It was a nice high rise apartment building with a beautiful roof, so as we were leaving, I suggested a final look at the roof. We went, I got on one knee, and I proposed. She said yes. While the proposal was a total surprise to her on that day, I had no doubt she would say yes. We've been on the same page since day 1 and we had talked about marriage so she was expecting a proposal, just not one so soon and on that day in particular.
talk about your wedding ceremony.
We had a simple wedding ceremony at my parent's house. We were lucky to have my mom orchestrate our entire wedding, from the beautiful floral arrangements to the food.
Final Thoughts
Since we found each other in March of 2020, we have not gone a single day since without talking to one another. She's my wife and best friend. The end.
